Dr. Kelvin Khng is both an american board certified prosthodontist and dental specialist registered on the Singapore Dental Council. He graduated from the National University of Singapore, Faculty of Dentistry in 2006. In 2009, Dr Khng continued to pursue advanced specialist training in Prosthodontics at the University of Iowa, USA. In 2012, he successfully completed his postgraduate training and obtained his Master of Science degree in Oral Sciences. Upon completion of his postgraduate training, he taught dental undergraduates at the University of Iowa, College of Dentistry for a year before returning to Singapore in mid 2013.
In 2013, he continued his practice of prosthodontics at the National University Hospital, Dental Centre with a joint appointment as an assistant professor at the National University of Singapore, Faculty of Dentistry in the Department of Restorative Dentistry. Dr. Khng is currently the clinical director at Prostho Dental Office and teaches the undergraduate students part time at the Faculty of Dentistry at The National University of Singapore. He is also an instructor of Dr. Jiro Abe’s suction denture technique.
In Dr. Khng’s daily practice, he embraces technology ranging from CAD-CAM intraoral scanners to delivering computer milled prosthesis. He believes that the future of dentistry and prosthodontics is here and uses them to enhance the patient’s dental experience as well as reduce treatment time.
A warm individual and approachable prosthodontist, he believes that going to see a dentist shouldn't be a fearful affair but instead should be an enjoyable one.
Continuing Education
Dr. Khng constantly advances his training going for dental meetings both in Singapore as well as internationally.
Apart from successfully challenging the American Board of Prosthodontics in 2013 and the Singapore specialist accreditation board examination in 2017. He has also successfully completed Dr Jiro Abe’s suction denture course.
He is past president of the Prosthodontic Society of Singapore. Singapore’s official society for the specialty of prosthodontics.
The society represents the prosthodontic community and organizes continuing education events for prosthodontist as well as dentist who have keen interest in prosthodontics. He also speaks locally as well as internationally in the field of prosthodontics sharing what he had learnt over the years with his peers. He believes that knowledge is to be shared and not to be kept to oneself.

In his past time, Dr. Khng believes in giving back to the society as well as to encourage the youths to dare to dream. He hopes to inspire more youths to pursue the route that he had taken.
Dr. Khng sits on the college advisory committee of his alma mater Tampines Junior College (TPJC), now Tampines Meridian Junior College. (TMJC) He conducts an annual job shadowing program for interested TMJC students to experience how life is like for a prosthodontist in a day. He had also been participating in the school’s career days in both TMJC as well as Ngee Ann Secondary School.
In his free time, Dr. Khng is an avid radio controlled car racer and a car enthusiast. He has been racing for the past 26 years and had represented Singapore in countries like U.S.A, Japan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia. He feels that he derived the passion for meeting new people as well as working with his hands from his hobby.
His greatest achievement was representing Singapore and winning the Tamiya Asiacup in 2015. With that win, he represented Asia at the Tamiya World Championships in 2015 in Shizouka, Japan where he finished 4th in his racing class. He has over 250 trophies in his private collection which he had won over the years of racing.
